Friday Five... here it goes again


For this Friday Five offer a quick list of five things you do when you need a triage of self care. 


Self-care? whaaat? ok:
1)  I make sure I return to my morning devotional reading. Takes time. I'm a slow mover in the mornings. But it grounds me.
2)  walk the dog. even when you don't feel like it. walk. the. dog.
3)  shopping. i know good capitalist that I am! something about shopping for clothes, for plants at the nursery, for groceries even... soothes me in ways i cannot quite explain.
4)  get out. rural ministry, home office, need i say isolation? getting out so important.
5)  wear whatever makes you feel like a million bucks. i have a beautiful necklace of silver and cobalt blue beads i bought on vacation at a gallery. it's a bit fancy. but sometimes on an average tuesday, i'll wear it just because i can. it's weight reminds me that beauty is for every. day. 
#6 Bonus.... oh we have an abundant crop of mint in the garden, plus a lime tree, and my husband makes a really mean mojito. perfect for summer nights on the patio... especially on friday!
